Important information about the department
The department accepts patients without a referral. Appointments can be scheduled in person for surgical procedures or follow-up consultations.
New patients must register at the patient registration desk upon arrival. Patients returning for an appointment must check in at the patient registration desk or the self-service kiosk (within 30 minutes before their appointment time) to receive a queue number. Patients are called in based on this number, although not always in the order of arrival.
Patients with acute bleeding or requiring urgent care are always prioritised.
Scope of activitIES
The primary focus of the department is to treat the most common surgical problems:
- examination of acute abdominal complaints;
- removal of moles and other skin lesions;
- non-laser surgical treatment of ingrown toenails;
- removal of soft tissue tumours, e.g. lipomas (fatty tumours) and atheromas (sebaceous cysts);
- surgical treatment of minor abscesses.
Minor outpatient surgeries under local anesthesia are performed by appointment only. For the removal of skin lesions, a dermatologist’s recommendation is required.
In addition to general surgical care, the department also treats minor, primarily limb-related injuries.
Patients requiring hospitalisation for surgical care will be referred to the Surgical Department of the Péterfy Sándor Utcai Hospital (1076 Budapest, 8-20 Péterfy Sándor utca) For major injuries, fractures, or head trauma, patients are referred to the Dr. Manninger Jenő Baleseti Központ (1081 Budapest, 17 Fiumei utca).
For patients with an invalid TAJ card or no insurance, services are only provided after payment in cash on-site.
