Scope of activities
Oral surgery, also known as dentoalveolar surgery, involves treatments for dental and jaw-related conditions under local anaesthesia, including:
- removal of teeth and tooth roots;
- surgical methods of retaining teeth;
- surgical treatment of teeth left behind by eruption;
- management of inflammatory jaw conditions, chronic root tip inflammation, and cysts;
- minor soft tissue surgeries, and removal of bone overgrowths.
Surgical tooth extraction is necessary if the tooth cannot be removed by conventional methods. These include a tooth that has broken under the gumline, when decay has severely damaged the crown and neck, or wisdom teeth that have been left behind in an eruption.
Jaw and gum corrective surgery may be necessary before creating dental prosthetics.
Root apex resection is performed to remove the root tip surgically to preserve the tooth.
If an oral surgery procedure extends beyond dental issues to involve the sinuses, face, or jaw, these cases fall under the scope of maxillofacial surgery. Such treatments are provided at the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic: 1085 Budapest, 52 Mária utca.
Note that patients without a valid TAJ card or insurance must pay in cash on-site before receiving treatment.
