Important information about the department

Our department provides cares for both adults and children.

Primarily, we serve residents of District 6 and those registered with a District 6 general practitioner. Patients from other districts may also be treated, subject to available capacity..

No referral is required to access the service.

Patients with recently developed, severe symptoms (e.g., ear pain) can attend without an appointment.

In case of mild, but long-standing complaints (e.g. ear congestion), it is recommended to make an appointment to minimise waiting time.

Appointments can be made in person, by phone, or online.

On arrival, all patients must check in at the patient registration desk for electronic data entry and will be issued a number.

Patients are called in according to their assigned number, not in order of arrival. Patients with appointments have priority.

Emergency cases (e.g., bleeding, choking) are always treated immediately.

Appointment scheduling

The department accepts patients without referrals, but requires an appointment. Appointments can be made in person, by phone, or online. Patients that have recently developed symptoms can come without an appointment.

Scope of activity

In addition to standard ENT examinations, we offer comprehensive ENT evaluations tailored to individual complaints, using modern, painless techniques:

  • Endoscopic examinations: Rigid-tube examination of the nasopharynx, pharynx, and larynx.
  • Fiberoscopic examinations: Flexible-tube examination of the nasopharynx, pharynx, and larynx through the nose, avoiding gag reflexes.
  • Microscopic examinations: Diagnostic procedures for ear conditions using specialised microscopes.
  • Ultrasound sinus examination: Assessment of the air cavities in the sinuses to diagnose inflammations.
  • Tympanometry: Evaluation of pressure in the middle ear.
  • Hearing tests: Audiological examinations are carried out twice a week by appointment given by the specialists of the department. These tests determine the type and degree of hearing loss and facilitate access to modern hearing aids.

ADDITIONAL SERVICES

  • Laryngeal cancer screening.
  • Investigation and, if necessary, treatment of tinnitus, dizziness, and headaches.
  • Treatments using Bioptron lamps.
  • Bacteriological sampling of throat, nasal, and ear discharge for diagnostic or focal infection analysis.
